How to Fish Leech Bait: Find All 3 Leeches on Island 2

The three leeches are physical pickups hidden in the grass around the Forest lake on Island 2. Do not cast for them. Walk slowly with the camera pointed at the ground and press E when the interaction prompt appears.

Find the three leeches

1. Accept the lake woman’s request and confirm the objective shows 0/3.
2. Search the grassy ground around the lake edge, nearby paths, trees and small structures. The dark leech models are easy to lose against the soil.
3. Keep the camera low. The E prompt is more reliable than trying to identify the model at a distance.
4. Collect until the objective reads 3/3, then return to the woman. Leeches carried before accepting the request may not count, so always verify the counter.

Evidence: multiple guide and player sources agree on 3/3 ground pickups. Older pages that say “catch three leeches” describe the objective incorrectly.

Use the Modified Leech

The NPC exchanges the three pickups for a Modified Leech. Equip that exact quest bait at the Island 2 boss water and cast to summon Giant Piranha. A Beginner Boss Lure summons The Old Pike instead and does not advance this story request.

During the fight, keep a sideways escape route and kill only the small piranhas that are blocking movement. The white bar below the boss health is the escape timer: if it empties, the boss leaves and you must cast the Modified Leech route again.

Finish the hand-in

Keep the distinct Giant Piranha skeleton after the kill and return it to the same quest NPC. The kill alone does not unlock Island 3; the skeleton hand-in is the progression proof.

If the skeleton is missing, inspect the shore, boat and every player’s held item before saving or leaving. In co-op, choose one trophy carrier before the cast.
