How to Fish Fish Not Biting on Island 2: Rod Fix
Fix the Island 2 fish-not-biting report by checking the new rod, hold-left-click input, lure tier, recast state, and co-op ownership.
This symptom comes from repeated Steam Community reports around the newer Island 2 rod. The most successful reported sequence is:
- Equip the rod and lure shown by the active objective.
- Cast into the intended pool and hold left click after the hook enters the water.
- Do not spam reel and lure actions together; test reel only after a bite prompt.
- Recast once after swapping bait.
- Repeat solo to remove co-op ownership/desync as a variable.
If ordinary fish bite but a quest creature does not, check the leech bait guide and named objective. If nothing bites anywhere, restart the session and verify mouse/controller focus before changing graphics settings.
