Four Players in How to Fish: What Oracle's Full Group Actually Shows
With a full lobby the game becomes a survival drill: one baits, one revives, one hauls. Drowning, friendly fire and lag end runs, not bosses.

Oracle’s 21-minute four-player montage is worth watching not for progress, but because it proves one thing: the moment four people load in. The hard part stops being fishing and becomes not dying.
The group is Oracle, Dr. Infinite, PhoenixVLite and Erou, all friends, so the whole session is banter and laughter with a bit of fishing on the side.
Roles appear on their own
There are no classes, but the group still splits up: someone baits and triggers the boss. Someone follows each catch and drags it inland (a released fish runs for the water, so distance buys you time), and someone does basically nothing but revive.
The words revive and wake up run through the entire video. That tells you the margin in a full lobby comes from teammates, not gear.
What actually ends a run
Not the boss. Three things keep showing up:
- drowning (someone dives in to grab a fish bare-handed)
- friendly fire (loose aim plus four bodies blocking each other’s sightlines)
- and lag (the opening already shows broken models with only “floating blue hands” in the water
- and the host says outright that he is lagging).
Zero1 Gaming’s review makes the point that physics comedy needs witnesses, and the launch co-op issues GameBrief lists, crashes, connection trouble and desync, line up with what you see here.
Agree on three things before you start
- Who navigates. One player reads the radar and finds NPCs while the others follow, instead of four people swimming in four directions.
- Who revives. Assign one player to prioritise revives while the rest keep dealing damage; anyone carried off by a seagull is usually gone for good.
- Who hauls the catch. Whoever hooks it drags it inland while the others cover, or it escapes back into the water.
How to restart after a wipe
If a run ends with everyone down, do not reshuffle the group yet. Check that everyone is on the same build (the launch black-screen and invisible-player problems were only cautiously addressed in 1.0.11), switch the lobby to private invite, and change host if the lag continues. The full order is on the multiplayer troubleshooting page.
