What SMii7Y's 5-Million-View How to Fish Video Actually Shows

A 32-minute video films the game's most ridiculous parts: a beer can as boss bait, seagulls stealing your loot.

If SMii7Y’s video is how you found this game, you have already watched the most convincing ad for it. Thirty-two minutes, more than five million views. And it runs through the funniest parts without explaining a single rule.

So let us do the opposite: which parts are real mechanics, which are improvised, and what you should watch out for if you try to copy them.

What the video actually shows

The three of them (SMii7Y, Yumi and Soup) crash the boat immediately, then get stuck on missing boat keys. The opening island shop sells a crab rod, brass knuckles, a $1 hot dog and a $12 beer. And they have no money, so it is clam-collecting time.

Then the whole toolkit shows up: the beer can works as a boss lure, a landed fish will not die on its own, seagulls carry off the thing you needed, kills drop good loot, the casino takes bets, Z/C changes your weapon skin, and the grill makes a catch worth more. None of that is a bit. It is all real. To actually understand it. Read the beginner first hour and all fish locations.

Why it spread further than the official trailer

Because it films physics comedy as a chain of accidents: someone dives in to grab a fish bare-handed and drowns, someone gets shot by a friend. Someone watches a seagull fly off with the item they needed.

PC Gamer called the game “ridiculous physics” plus classic co-op chaos and pointed out that the beer can summons a giant Spider Crab. Zero1 Gaming put it more bluntly: reeling it in is only the start of the problem. You do not need to know anything about fishing to laugh. Which is exactly why it travelled further than the trailer.

What is a joke and what is reliable

The prices, the drops and the “legendary” items belong to that one session and can look different next run. The creator’s own line about not being able to explain the game is a stance, not a spec sheet.

What you can trust: missing keys block progress, catches must be finished, seagulls steal items, and the grill raises a catch’s value. For numbers and boss tactics, go back to the checked pages. Like the boss guide and the fish not biting checklist.

What the comments are talking about

The top comments are almost all jokes: “I was hungry”, “what’s the game called”, “make part three”. The people watching are passers-by, not guide readers. And the same crowd gave the game 95.1% positive across 64,000 Steam reviews. Which says the same thing: everyone knows they bought a comedy.
