How to Fish Patch 1.0.11: Deck Verified, GeForce NOW & Toggles
What Patch 1.0.11 added: Steam Deck Verified, GeForce NOW support, four control toggles, save checks and backups, plus the honest limit of what it actually fixed.
Patch 1.0.11 landed on September 1, 2026. This one is about platform support and how the game feels to play. No new island, no new boss.
Platforms: Deck and GeForce NOW
- Steam Deck is now Verified.
- How to Fish is playable through GeForce NOW.
Both lines only say you can play. The notes do not name regions, membership tiers or store versions, so whether it actually launches depends on the GeForce NOW library; the steps are in platforms and price.
Neither line means PS5, Xbox, Mac or a native Linux build is confirmed.
The four control toggles
The main menu and in-game settings gained four options. They are separate from difficulty:
| Setting | What you can change | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Aim | Switch to toggle, so you tap instead of holding | Long reeling sessions, sore hands, controller players |
| Sprint | Switch to toggle and stay sprinting | Anyone running between islands for pickups |
| Attack | Switch to hold for continuous attacks | Melee crowds without mashing a button |
| Nametags | Turn player nametags off | Screenshots, recording, less clutter |
The details, and the “can you turn off auto-aim” question, are in difficulty and control settings.
Save and item changes
- Saves are checked for corruption before loading, and a backup is created.
- Dropped-item markers changed colour: weapons are orange, bodies are turquoise.
- Your own explosives kill you even with friendly fire off.
- Iron sights left the shop (players only ever bought them by mistake), and a suppressor can no longer be downgraded.
- The Island 6 roulette table moved, so betting there is no longer awkward.
A backup improves your odds. It does not guarantee recovery of an already damaged file. See save troubleshooting.
These fixes are attempts, not promises
For the join-time inventory bug that made players invisible, the notes say “hopefully fixed”.
They do not promise to fix every black screen, red Relay line, desync or modded lobby. Update every client, test a clean two-player room first, and use multiplayer troubleshooting if it still happens.
How to get the update
Fully quit and restart Steam so the update applies. After that, confirm your save loads before joining a multiplayer lobby.
Later versions
Patch 1.0.12 covers Steam Cloud saves and the Piranha and Tuna balance. Older versions are in the patch index.
